John Harrison

Chief Information Officer

John Harrison serves as the Chief Information Officer for the North Carolina Department of Insurance. As part of the executive team, John is responsible for the Agency’s Information Technology Division.

John brings of 40 years of IT experience to the position, having served in various leadership capacities with the Departments of Environmental Quality and Information Technology before joining the Department of Insurance in January 2022. He served as an IT Director II prior to accepting his current position.

John earned his Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A native of North Carolina, John currently resides in Raleigh with his wife, Beth. He has two grown children and three wonderful grandchildren.
