Causey in Transylvania County

Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will return to the North Carolina mountains on Saturday, Aug. 21, when he’ll stop by two Transylvania County fire stations in areas impacted by flooding earlier this week.

Commissioner Causey, who is also the State Fire Marshal, will stop by the Balsam Grove Fire Department and Rosman Fire and Rescue on Saturday morning. The two fire departments were heavily involved in rescue efforts as flood waters hit that part of Transylvania County.

In addition, the N.C. Department of Insurance will continue operating a Victims’ Assistance Center near the entrance of the Lowe’s Home Improvement at 100 Liner Cove Road, Waynesville, N.C. 28786 through the weekend. The center will be set up from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21, and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22.
