North Carolina Commissioner of Insurance Mike Causey has issued the following statement to clear up any confusion regarding the recent filing made by insurance companies:

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will speak at the Corinth-Holders Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Firefighter of the Year dinner on Saturday, Jan. 20. 

During the dinner, Commissioner Causey will make a special award presentation.

Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will present a pair of Commissioner’s Awards during a visit to Union County on Friday, Jan.19.

Commissioner Causey will present the awards to Union County Fire Marshal Kevin Rigoli and also to his fire dog, Camden, during a retirement ceremony to be held at the Emergency Services Center in Monroe, NC.

The Rate Bureau has asked for the rates to become effective Aug. 1.
