North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Timothy Lamont Gunter, 27, of 309 Walston St., Princeville. Gunter was charged with insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense, both felonies.Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Gunter of obtaining money from Government Employees’ Insurance Co by falsely claiming that he and two minor children were injured while inside a vehicle during an automobile accident, when the vehicle was not occupied during the accident.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of a Randolph County insurance agent on multiple charges, including embezzlement, forgery and uttering.Jeffrey Martin Webster of 704 Teague Drive, Jamestown, was arrested on Feb. 27. He is the owner of Webster Insurance Agency in Archdale. He was charged with embezzlement by an insurance producer and 18 counts of common law forgery and 18 counts of common law uttering, all felonies.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey has announced the arrest of Jason Vance Ledford, 46, of Orangewood Lane, Newton. Ledford, a bail bondsman, was charged with attempting to discharge a weapon into an occupied vehicle in operation, a felony. He was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor injury to personal property.
