Advisory Notice - 2023 Annual Certification - On-site Audit of TPA Operations for Calendar Year 2022

The North Carolina Department of Insurance is issuing this advisory to inform insurers that use the services of Third Party Administrators (TPA) that an on-site audit of TPA operations is required in accordance with NCGS 58-56-26(c) for the annual insurer TPA audit certifications for calendar year 2022 which will be due July 1, 2023. Virtual audits will continue to be acceptable for the annual insurer TPA audit certifications for calendar year 2021, which are due July 1, 2022.
