Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will return to the North Carolina mountains on Saturday, Aug. 21, when he’ll stop by two Transylvania County fire stations in areas impacted by flooding earlier this week.

Commissioner Causey, who is also the State Fire Marshal, will stop by the Balsam Grove Fire Department and Rosman Fire and Rescue on Saturday morning. The two fire departments were heavily involved in rescue efforts as flood waters hit that part of Transylvania County.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey has set up a Victims’ Assistance Center in Haywood County to answer questions of flood victims through the weekend.

The Victims’ Assistance Center will be set up near the entrance of Lowe’s Home Improvement at 100 Liner Cove Road, Waynesville, N.C. 28786 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 20-22. The center will be set up from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
