North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey announced today the arrest of Keysha Gillis Cox, 50, of 624 Thomas Ave., Aberdeen, NC. Cox was charged with one count of insurance fraud and one count of attempting to obtain property by false pretense. Both are felonies.
According to special agents with the NC Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division, Cox attempted to defraud Travelers Personal Insurance Co. out of $1,946 by filing a renter’s insurance claim for an address where she did not live.
