North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will present two Order of the Guardian awards during a visit to Guilford County on Saturday, Dec. 3.
The Commissioner, who serves as the State Fire Marshal, presents this award to indviduals who have demonstrated outstanding service in the fire industry.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will present three Order of the Guardian awards during visits to New Hanover and Onslow counties scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 29.
The commissioner will present the awards for outstanding service in either the fire or insurance industries.
In this case, the awards are being presented to three insurance agents who have completed over 50 years of service to the insurance industry. Two of the awards are being presented in Wilmington and another in Richlands.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Cassie Ann Gibson, 36, of 420 Brewer St., Asheboro, was charged with insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense, both felonies.
Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Gibson of obtaining money from an automobile policy claim from Progressive Insurance by falsely telling the insurance company that a crash occurred after her policy had been reinstated on Oct. 9.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Andrew Konrad Roesch, 56, of 7037 N.C. Highway 751, Durham, was charged with three misdemeanor counts of failing to perform fire inspection duties in Durham County Schools.
Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Roesch of failing to perform alarm tests and inspecting fire alarms at Fayetteville Street, Southwest and Hillandale elementary schools, all in Durham County.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of an Eagle Springs man in the burning of a Montgomery County church that occurred Saturday night.
Shane Deante Jones, 24, of 125 McCoy Lane, Eagle Springs, was arrested by special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division and charged with breaking and entering of a place of worship, burning a church or religious building and burning personal property, all felonies.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey issued the following statement on Monday’s decision by the Wake County Superior Court:
“I am pleased to announce that today the Wake County Superior Court granted the Department of Insurance’s petition to place Colorado Bankers Life Insurance Company and Bankers Life Insurance Company into liquidation. This is an important step that will allow more policyholders to get more of their money back, sooner.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Ronnie Ray Perry, 64, of 1413 E. Third St., Winston Salem. Perry was charged with insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense, both felonies.
Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Perry of obtaining $22,443.76 from State Farm Insurance Co. for a kitchen fire that did not occur.
The North Carolina Rate Bureau has filed a request with the N.C. Department of Insurance to increase insurance rates for mobile home policies.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey, who also serves as the State Fire Marshal, will deliver a check to Bear Grass Fire and Rescue in Williamston during an afternoon visit on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
The purpose of the visits are to deliver funds included in the state budget by the legislature to fire department representatives. Rep. Shelly Willingham will join Commissioner Causey for the 2 p.m. appearance to deliver the $210,000 check.
