North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey is scheduled to discuss insurance legislation and regulation while attending two national meetings with insurance commissioners and state legislators from all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands in Austin, Texas, this week.
Commissioner Causey will attend the National Association of Insurance Commissioners from Dec. 7-10 and the National Council of Insurance Legislators from Dec. 10-13.
Among the topics to be discussed: Pharmacy benefit managers, insurance company regulation, disaster recovery, company accreditations and anti-fraud task forces.
A special committee to discuss natural disaster recovery will be chaired by N.C. Sen. Vickie Sawyer, R-Iredell. N.C. Sen. Jim Burgin, R-Harnett, will attend as well.
