DOI Chief Deputy Michelle Osborne named to chair position at Campbell University

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Chief Deputy Commissioner Michelle Osborne will resign from her role at DOI on Aug 15.

Osborne has been named associate professor of management and chair of business administration at Campbell University’s Lundy-Fetterman School of Business, effective Aug. 16.

“Michelle has been a tireless advocate and voice for our department, and with the insurance industry and consumers. We will continue to rely on her expertise,” Commissioner Causey said. “We wish to thank her for her service and are excited for this next step in her career.”

Osborne has worked in the insurance industry for more than 25 years as a CEO and manager. She has previously held the position of professor at Campbell and has also worked an adjunct professor at N.C. State’s MBA Partnership International School of Knowledge, Management and Economics and at North Carolina Wesleyan University.

“We are excited to have Dr. Osborne join our faculty,” said Kevin O’Mara, dean of the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from both the private and public sectors. Her unique expertise will be invaluable addition and undoubtedly impact the learning experience of our undergraduate and graduate students. We already know Dr. Osborne is an outstanding teacher and colleague. We are all looking forward to working with her as she imprints her own mark on our programs.”

She earned her MBA from Campbell and holds a Doctor of Business Administration from George Fox University in Oregon.
