North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey, who also serves as the State Fire Marshal, will announce a new insurance rating for the Kill Devil Hills Fire Department in Dare County on Wednesday, April 5.
The announcements will take place at 6 p.m. at the Kill Devil Hills Town Hall, 102 Town Hall Drive, Kill Devil Hills, N.C. 27948.
The Kill Devil Hills Fire Department recently underwent an inspection by the Office of State Fire Marshal. A fire department’s rating affects homeowners’ and business insurance premiums and helps signal how prepared firefighters are at responding to calls and battling blazes in their fire districts.
The new ratings will become effective for insurance policies on July 1.
