North Carolina Department of Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will present the Commissioner’s Award to Guilford County EMT Elle Green during a special presentation on Friday, March 15.
The award will be presented during the Guilford County Emergency Services Award Dinner, scheduled for 6 p.m.
Green was having lunch with her daughter in November 2023 when she noticed an older woman having trouble breathing. Green, who was off duty at the time, performed the Heimlich maneuver several times, saving the woman’s life. Green joined Guilford County EMS in August 2023.
The Commissioner presents this award to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service in either the fire or insurance industries.
