North Carolina Department of Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will present the Commissioner’s Award to a junior firefighter who has earned his Eagle Scout badge during a special ceremony on Saturday, April 13.
The award will be presented to Landon Whitman at 4 p.m. during a court of honor of Boy Scout Troop 19 scheduled at the Benson Fire Department, 313 South Elm Street, Benson, NC.
Whitman’s Eagle Scout service project was to design and build a portable dryer for turnout gear for the department. The Commissioner presents this award to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service in either the fire or insurance industries.
