As Tropical Storm Chris lurks off the North Carolina coast, Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey wants all residents to remain prepared for what could be a very active hurricane season.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey has issued a bulletin which, combined with a state of emergency declared by Gov. Roy Cooper, directs health insurance companies providing prescription benefits to waive time restrictions on filling or refilling prescriptions if requested by the covered person.

The 2018 Hurricane season begins June 1 and runs through Nov. 30 and Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey wants all residents to be prepared in order to minimize potential losses in the event of a damaging storm.
