North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Brancis Lee Williams, 47, of 101 Dominion Court, Roanoke Rapids. Williams was charged with two counts each of insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense, all felonies.

According to the arrest warrants, Williams filed fraudulent medical bills from Nash and Pitt County hospitals to obtain $26,800 in insurance payments from American Heritage Life Insurance Co.

The offenses occurred between Sept. 17, 2019, and May 17, 2020.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Tilneshia Shuntovia Mobley, 34, of 7605 Holly Grove Court, Charlotte, was charged with insurance fraud, a felony.

Special Agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Mobley of filing a false automobile insurance claim with Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., saying she was injured in an accident when she was not in the vehicle at the time of the collision.

The offense occurred between Feb. 22 and March 18.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Adrian Lopez, 19, of 121 Cobalt Creek, Holly Springs. Lopez was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.

According to the arrest warrant, Lopez told Progressive Casualty Insurance Co. that his motorcycle was involved in an accident after he added full-coverage insurance to his liability policy, when the wreck took place before the change.

The offenses occurred on March 12.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Justice Sherron Parker, 26, of 3487 Herlocker Road, New London, was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense.

Special Agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Parker of attempting to reinstate a canceled policy with National General Insurance Co. after reporting her vehicle stolen.

The offenses occurred between Aug 21-24.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Robin Hart, 47, of 1713 Bethlehem Road, Rocky Mount. Hart was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.According to the arrest warrant, Hart filed a claim with Nationwide Insurance Co. of America, saying that damage to her 2014 Nissan Altima was the result of a storm blowing a trash can into her car when the damage to her vehicle was present when she bought it.The offenses occurred between Feb. 22 and Sept. 10.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Jeremy Ryan Boroski, 23, of 40966 Mountain View Church Road, Albemarle, was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies, along with misdemeanor making a false report to police.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Felicia Bryant, 46, of 104 Redman Court, LaGrange. Bryant was charged with insurance fraud, a felony.

According to the arrest warrant, Bryant filed a new vehicle damage claim with Geico when the damage had previously been reported to Allstate.

The offense occurred on April 26.

Special Agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division arrested Bryant on Sept. 11. She was released on $3,000 unsecured bond.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Sequan Tripp, 25, of 411 Dunn St., New Bern. Tripp was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.

According to the arrest warrant, Tripp submitted a fictitious police report in support of a renter’s insurance claim with State Farm Fire & Casualty Co. for payment of personal property reported stolen from his home.

The offenses occurred between May 15-20.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Anthony Delon Liles, 37, of 110 Stoney Drive, Durham, was charged with two counts of insurance fraud and one count of attempting to obtain property by false pretense, all felonies.

Special Agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Liles of attempting to collect on an auto insurance claim from Progressive Premier Insurance Co. by obtaining an auto policy online after a vehicle crash and claiming the wreck occurred after he obtained the policy.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Debbie Hogan Steele, 59, of 729 Craige St., Salisbury, was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.

Special Agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Steele of attempting to obtain payment from National General Insurance Co. for an auto damage claim in a hit and run that had previously been reported in 2018.

The offenses occurred between March 9-11.
