North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrests of Telsey Bess, 24, and Shelice Monee Whitaker, 25, both of 4600 N.C. Highway 125, Oak City.
Special agents with the N.C. Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division charged both with felony insurance fraud.
According to the arrest warrant, Bess submitted a false renter’s insurance claim to Homesite Insurance Co., and Whitaker substantiated it.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Christopher Lamarr Outlaw, 29, of 2167 Eric Sparrow Road, Deep Run. Outlaw was charged with two felonies – insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense – and making a false report to police, which is a misdemeanor.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Aishia Denise Danta Wilkerson, 40, of 947 Davis Bridge Road, Parkton. Wilkerson was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.
Special Agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Wilkerson of filing a false claim with Progressive Premier Insurance Co. of Illinois claiming she was injured in an accident.
The offenses occurred on Aug. 1, 2019.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Clyde Lee Crawford, 34, of 7018 Farmdale Road, Raleigh. Crawford was charged with felony insurance fraud and felony attempting to obtain property by false pretense.
Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Crawford of falsely reporting lost items to USAA Insurance in an attempt to obtain $3,109 on an auto policy.
According to the warrant, Crawford falsely reported that an iPad, a wedding band, and a USMC ring were lost.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Miguel Rodriguez, 46, of 7665 Southbend Drive, Fayetteville. Rodriguez was charged with felony insurance fraud, felony obtaining property by false pretense, and two counts of felony identity theft.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Natiela Ayesha Stuckes, 34, of 6433 Caymus Drive, Charlotte, has been charged with felony insurance fraud.
According to a criminal summons, Stuckes turned in an altered medical bill from Carolinas Healthcare System in an attempt to defraud Allstate Insurance Co. on an automobile policy claim. The offense occurred on May 14, according to the summons.
Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division served the criminal summons to Stuckes on June 13.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Lashunda Bobbitt, 38, of 1813 Boone St., Rocky Mount. Bobbitt was charged with felony insurance fraud and making a false report to police, which is a misdemeanor.
According to the arrest warrant, Bobbitt filed a false report with Enfield police, saying that she was pulled out of the driver’s seat of a stolen 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Gary Miller, 44 of 1106 N. Charlotte, Ave., Monroe. Miller was charged with felony insurance fraud.
Special agents with the N.C. Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Miller of presenting a fraudulent invoice for auto body repair work that was never performed to Allstate Insurance Co. The action was aimed at increasing the value of a vehicle that Miller had reported as stolen, according to the arrest warrant.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Julius Jerome Oden, 42, of 76 Whootentown Road, Washington, N.C. He was charged with felony insurance fraud and felony attempting to obtain property by false pretense.
Special agents with the N.C. Department of Insurance Criminal Investigations Division accuse Oden of submitting a fraudulent claim to USAA stating that $8,283 worth of electronic items were stolen during a break-in of his car.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Shar’dayzeia Lonniece Johnson, 22, of 306 Stokes St., Hertford. Johnson was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense.
According to the warrant, Johnson filed a claim with National General Insurance Co., saying that her vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run traffic accident when the damage to the vehicle was not consistent with damage from such an accident.
