North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Ceedee Davis Jr., 32, of 95 Moore Farm Road, Whitakers. Davis was charged with four counts of insurance fraud and four counts of obtaining property by false pretense, all felonies.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Davis of pursuing automobile insurance claims with State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. for a vehicle he did not own that was involved in staged crashes.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Kenneth Roberts, 42, of 8770 Carroll St., Hickory, was charged with insurance fraud, a felony.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Roberts of providing a $28,995 repair estimate from a business that does not exist in support of an automobile insurance policy claim with Geico.

The offense occurred between Aug. 13, 2020, and March 8, 2021.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Robert Luis Quinones, 27, of 196 E. City Drive, Smyrna. Quinones was charged with insurance fraud, a felony.

According to the arrest warrant, Quinones filed a claim with Progressive Premier Insurance Group of Illinois for damage to his vehicle and another man’s vehicle, claiming that the damage occurred after he took out the insurance policy when it occurred before he took out the policy.

The offense occurred between May 10 and May 11.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Wittney Nicole Parks, 31, of 7416 Hounslow Lane, Charlotte, was charged with insurance fraud, a felony.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Parks of telling Repwest Insurance Co. that her crash was an accident when it was a staged collision.

The offense occurred on Sept. 18, 2018.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey announced today that the Department of Insurance has entered into a voluntary settlement agreement with Humana Insurance Co. that includes a $630,000 penalty for numerous violations related to health insurance.

“Health insurance policyholders need to know what is covered and not covered under their policies,” Commissioner Causey said. “I expect health insurers to do the right thing when it comes to paying claims.”

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Janeika Shaquia Griggs, 28, of 311 Brookway West Drive, Lewisville. Griggs was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Griggs of presenting fraudulent invoices for repair costs to Nationwide Insurance Co. Inc. in an attempt to obtain payment on a business insurance claim.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Angela K. Whidbee, 33, of 2804 Santonsburg Road, Greenville. Whidbee was charged with identity theft and insurance fraud, both felonies.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Deealdo Gerrard Pulley, 40, of 8041 Watson Seed Farm Road, Whitakers. Pulley was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Pulley of providing false and misleading information regarding the theft of his insured vehicle to National General Insurance Co.

The offenses occurred between March 21 and July 2.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Darrell Howard, 52, of 3546 Durham Lane, Charlotte, was charged with insurance fraud, a felony, and a misdemeanor charge of making a false statement on an insurance application.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Howard of listing four men’s mink coats, valued at $20,000, on a report of stolen property with State Farm Fire & Casualty Co. when the coats were not actually stolen.

During a visit to Carteret County on Monday, July 19, North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will speak at the Building Inspector’s Conference in Atlantic Beach and present the Commissioner’s Award to Richard A. “Dick” Lewis for outstanding service over 50 years with State Farm.

In his address to the Building Inspector’s Conference, Commissioner Causey, who is also the State Fire Marshal, will discuss the Office of State Fire Marshal’s role in overseeing building inspectors in North Carolina.
