Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Devin Jerome Perry, 34, of 110 Daniels Lane, Warrenton; he is charged with one count of attempting to obtain property by false pretense.

Department of Insurance criminal investigators accuse Perry of providing fraudulent information to Farm Bureau Insurance Company claiming his vehicle was stolen on Jan. 22, 2017 to pay a lower deductible. Investigators allege Perry wrecked his vehicle on the same day he made the claim.

Perry was arrested on Feb. 20 in Warren County and placed under a $1,000 bond.

An estimated 10 cents of every dollar paid in premiums goes toward the payment of fraudulent claims. The Department of Insurance employs 20 sworn state law enforcement officers dedicated to investigating and prosecuting claims of insurance and bail bonding fraud.
