Guilford County woman faces insurance fraud, false pretense charges

RALEIGH
Aug 6, 2026

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Cidnee Nicole Greene, 31, of 2756 Gateworth Drive, High Point. Greene was charged with two counts of insurance fraud, one count of attempting to obtain property by false pretense and one count of obtaining property by false pretense, all felonies. She was also charged with making a false statement in application for insurance, a misdemeanor.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Greene of making false statements on an application to insure her 2022 Mercedes-Benz with Sentry Insurance Co. for the purpose of obtaining fraudulent benefits.

According to the arrest warrant, Greene received $411.23 for windshield replacement and attempted to obtain an additional $588.66 to repair the passenger side mirror by falsely claiming that all the damage occurred while she had an active automobile policy with Sentry Insurance Co.

Greene was arrested on Aug. 5 and is due in Guilford County District Court in High Point on Sept. 15.

Commissioner Causey encourages North Carolinians to help keep insurance premiums low by reporting suspicious fraud.

“Insurance fraud costs the average family nearly $1,000 annually in premium increases,” Commissioner Causey said. “We cannot turn a blind eye to this costly crime.”
