Forsyth County woman charged with insurance fraud, false pretense

RALEIGH
Oct 30, 2026

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Nautica Tatiyana Williams, 27, of 408 W. Bodenhamer St., Apt. B, Kernersville. Williams was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.

Special agents from the Department of Insurance Criminal Investigations Division accuse Williams of making a false report to Integon Insurance Co. claiming to have been a passenger involved in an automobile collision on Aug. 5.  She attempted to obtain reimbursement for injuries received during the incident, but she was not actually in the car, according to the arrest warrant.

The offense occurred on Aug. 10.

Williams was released under a $15,000 secured bond and is scheduled to be in Forsyth County District Court on Nov. 5.

Commissioner Causey encourages North Carolinians to help keep insurance premiums low by reporting suspicious fraud.

“We cannot turn a blind eye to a crime that syphons billions of dollars from taxpayers each year. Insurance fraud must be reported to help hold down future rate increases.”

If you suspect insurance fraud or other white-collar crimes, please report it. You may anonymously report fraud by calling the N.C. Department of Insurance Criminal Investigations Division at 919-807-6840 or toll free from anywhere in North Carolina at 888-680-7684.
