North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Erica Keyona Forrest, 41, of 86 Ring Ave. Southwest, Concord, was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies. She was also charged with a misdemeanor count of insurance application fraud.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Sabrina Rena Davis, 34, of 700 S. English St., Greensboro. Davis was charged with insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense, both felonies.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Davis of obtaining $24,411.98 from State Farm Insurance Co. by presenting fraudulent documentation for a renters’ insurance claim.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Jalissa Lynnette Buie, 28, of 6157 Neuse Wood Drive, Raleigh. Buie was charged with two counts of felony insurance fraud.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Buie of filing renters’ insurance claims for the same theft with two different insurance companies, Liberty Mutual Insurance and Homesite Insurance Co., on June 20.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Jeremiah Randall Whitt, 40, of 140 Hooper Ave., Yanceyville. Whitt was charged with obtaining property by false pretense.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Whitt of failing to return $5,162.01 in excess funds from a life insurance policy to the estate after burial expenses had been satisfied. Whitt owns a funeral home in Caswell County.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Cornell Isaac Taylor, 40, of 1221 Motor Road, Winston-Salem, has been charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Taylor of filing a claim with Dairyland Insurance, saying his 2011 Dodge Charger was stolen when he knew it had been repossessed by the finance company.

The offenses occurred on Oct. 14, 2020.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Clarlese Tiauna Hobdy, 24, of 1700 Fairview St., Greensboro, was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Hobdy of attempting to obtain a payment from Progressive Premier Insurance even though her insurance coverage had lapsed when the auto crash occurred.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Latasha T. Vaughan, 39, of 208 Tallula Lane, Knightdale. Vaughan was charged with insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense, both felonies.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Vaughan of providing false and forged disability, accident, hospital and cancer medical bills and claim forms to obtain $70,091.13 from AFLAC.

The offenses occurred between June 8, 2016, and Dec. 17, 2018.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Briana Samone Caldwell, 28, of 4216 Parker St., Greensboro. Caldwell is charged with insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense, both felonies.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Caldwell of obtaining $26,618.90 from State Farm Property and Casualty Insurance by submitting false documents on a fictitious fire claim at her apartment.

The offense occurred on Dec. 22, 2020.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Latonya Levette Tucker, 46, of 2924 W. Hills Drive, Greenville. Tucker was charged with two counts of insurance fraud and two counts of attempting to obtain property by false pretense, all felonies.

Special agents from the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division investigated two fraud incidents, one occurring in 2012 and the other in 2019.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Ronnie Bernard Truesdale, 41, of 1920 Boaz Road, Raleigh. Truesdale was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, a felony.
