North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Kiesha Chanel Talbert, 38, of 2015 Gum Branch Road, Jacksonville. Talbert was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.
Special agents with Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Talbert of trying to obtain $2,500 from United Services Automobile Association by falsely telling the insurance company that she lost her ring at a ballfield.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Lakaiyaa Latrice Lyons, 29, of 112 Zinnia Court, Rocky Mount. Lyons was charged with felony insurance fraud.
Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Lyons of filing a false automobile insurance claim with Sentry Insurance by claiming another vehicle crashed into her 2008 Infiniti, causing her to lose control and drive into a ditch and other objects.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of James Alton Hoggard Jr., 22, of 1125 Mulberry St., Hassell. Hoggard was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies, along with a misdemeanor charge of making a false report to police.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Khadija Tiera Legree, 31, of 7905 Water Way Drive Northwest, Concord. Legree was charged with felony insurance fraud.
Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Legree of telling Progressive Southeastern Insurance Co. that an automobile accident occurred after she took out her policy on July 9, 2021, when it occurred before she took out the policy.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of LaFarrah Naden Davidson, 30, of 1729 Foust Road, Greensboro. Davidson was charged with insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense, both felonies.
Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Davidson of obtaining $21,382.49 from State Farm Insurance by providing the insurance company with false and misleading documents in a renters’ insurance claim.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Markel Ray Hyshaw, 28, 3520 Drawbridge Parkway, Greensboro. Hyshaw was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.
Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigation Division accuse Hyshaw of falsely claiming to USAA Insurance that his food spoiled because his refrigerator was replaced by his apartment maintenance staff.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Terry Allen Spivey, 57, of 4450 Whitestocking Road, Burgaw. Spivey was charged with insurance fraud, a felony.
Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Spivey of falsely telling Essentia Insurance Co. that his vehicle was stolen and then wrecked when he had been in an auto accident.
The offense occurred on Dec. 3, 2021.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Stevenson of obtaining $21,855 from State Farm Insurance Co. by filing a false renters’ policy claim for fire damage.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Collins of obtaining $2,948.87 from Peak Property and Casualty Insurance by claiming that the original payment from the insurance company was deposited into the wrong account.
