North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Lakeisha Hope, 37, of 4750 Lake Valley Drive, Fayetteville. Hope was charged with insurance fraud, a felony.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Donald Aashawn Haywood, 25, of 1403 Brookwood Circle, High Point, was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.

Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Haywood of attempting to obtain $720 by filing a fraudulent claim with USAA Insurance.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey has postponed the hearing for the insurance industry’s proposed statewide average 24.5% homeowners’ insurance rate increase to Jan. 3, 2022. The hearing had been scheduled for Monday, Nov. 1.

The hearing will begin at 10 a.m. in the Second Floor Hearing Room in the Albemarle Building, 325 N. Salisbury St., Raleigh.
