Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will honor an Alamance Community Fire District firefighter who has served for a half century with the Department of Insurance’s top award on Sunday afternoon.
Wayne Henderson, who joined the Alamance Community Fire District in Guilford County Aug. 1, 1975, will receive the Order of the Guardian Award. Henderson plans to retire on Aug. 28, 2025.

Brandon Allen Dorsett, 37, of Denton was charged with misusing government computers and two counts of fraud, all felonies.
Davidson County deputies arrested Dorsett on July 11. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bond. He is scheduled to appear in Davidson County District Court on Aug. 4
