The Seniors' Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) helps Medicare beneficiaries and caregivers with Medicare, Medicare supplements, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D, and long-term care insurance. We offer free and unbiased information about Medicare health care products. We can help people with Medicare billing errors and possible fraud and abuse through our NC SMP Program.

North Carolina is at a high risk for a variety of natural disasters, including hurricanes, tornadoes, winter storms, floods, wildfires, earthquakes, and mudslides. The North Carolina Department of Insurance encourages proper planning so that citizens are in a better position to protect their families and to recover from a natural disaster.
