North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of William Ryan Chesson, 27, of 398 Frisco Dr., Holly Ridge. Chesson was charged with insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense, both felonies.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Deandre Niko Holmes, 28, of 2000 Woodhaven Drive, Albemarle. Holmes was charged with identity theft and obtaining property by false pretense, both felonies.Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Holmes of using another man’s Social Security card and driver’s license to obtain renters’ insurance from State Farm Fire and Casualty Co.   According to the arrest warrant, the offense occurred on March 13.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Juan Terence Thompson, 34, of 13 South 12th Street, Wilmington, NC. Thompson was charged with one count of insurance fraud, a felony.Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Thompson of claiming a car accident occurred later than it did on July 2. Thompson obtained an insurance policy following the accident, but told the company the accident happened after he had a policy.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Jon Anthony Spencer, 38, of 150 Frye Road, Stoneville, NC. Spencer was charged with one count of attempting to obtain property by false pretense, a felony.Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Spencer of presenting an inflated towing bill on Sept. 5 for an accident that occurred on Sept. 1. The agents accuse Spencer of trying to defraud Geico Insurance Company out of $5,880.

Crockett faces charges of insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies, along with a misdemeanor common law forgery charge.Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Crockett of attempting to obtain $11,520 following an automobile accident by presenting a forged verification of employment form to the insurance company.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Justin Emanuel Johnson, 27, of 205 Wiley St., Greensboro. Johnson faces charges of insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies. Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Johnson of trying to obtain $8,000 from his insurance company by claiming his 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee had been stolen. According to the arrest warrant, Johnson had previously sold his vehicle to a private party.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Latoya Tanika Johnson, 36, of 1545 Gaston St., Winston-Salem. Johnson was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Johnson of providing fraudulent receipts totaling $10,817.62 in support of a renters’ insurance claim for two guitars that were stolen during a break-in.The offenses occurred on May 14.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Joquetta Jacqueline Clair, 23, of 10038 Orchard Grass Court, Charlotte, has been charged with insurance fraud, a felony.Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Clair of presenting a fictitious invoice from a collision center to her insurance company showing that damage to her 2015 Dodge Charger had been repaired when the collision center never did the repair work nor produced the invoice.The offense occurred on March 23.
