North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Nigel Marquise Vines, 39, of 1239 Kelston Place, Charlotte. Vines was charged with three counts of insurance fraud, all felonies.Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Vines of submitting altered invoices on three renters’ insurance claims with State Farm Insurance Co., two in Mecklenburg County and one in Gaston County. Special agents say the claims involved water damage to clothes.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey announced today that Justin Kevin Baba Alexander, 31, of 825 Stadium Drive, Wake Forest, has been charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense. Both charges are felonies.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Eric Woods, 50, of 3331 Fallston-Waco Road, Cherryville. Woods was charged with insurance fraud and two counts of common law forgery, all felonies.According to a Cleveland County grand jury, which indicted Woods on the charges, Woods forged two bills of sale, one for a Scag Turf Tiger mower and one for a John Deere Gator, and provided them to Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. in support of an insurance claim for storm damage.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Brody Alan Hankinson, 48, of 105 Whispering Pines Drive, Marion.Hankinson is charged with insurance fraud and three counts of extortion, which are felonies. He is also charged with three counts of communicating threats and three counts of placing threatening phone calls, which are misdemeanors. 
North Carolina >Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Keshawn Dupree Bradley, 31 of 370 S. Kerr Ave., Wilmington. Bradley was charged with insurance fraud and identity theft, both felonies.Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Bradley of using the name and date of birth of another person to obtain an automobile insurance policy from Nationwide Insurance Co.The offense occurred on Jan. 15, 2024.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Laquain James Robinson, 33, of 2117 Joe Louis Ave., Greensboro, has been charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.According to a criminal summons, Robinson falsely told State Farm Fire and Casualty Co. that a loss of power at his insured property caused $600 in food spoilage.The offense occurred on July 13, 2024.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Viola Brewer Harrell, 51, of 114 Roger Lane, Ahoskie, was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.According to the criminal summons, Harrell provided false and misleading statements to Integon Indemnity Corp. in an attempt to obtain $1,347.63 in an automobile insurance claim. Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Harrell of misrepresenting when the damage to her vehicle occurred.
