North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey announced the arrest of Daniel A. Cox, 41, of 8857 NC Hwy. 142, Oak City. Cox is charged with two counts of insurance fraud and two counts of attempting to obtain property by false pretense. All four charges are felonies.

Davie was charged with insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense, both felonies.Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Davie of receiving $18,752.25 from USAA Insurance by submitting fabricated statements for services not provided in a homeowners’ insurance claim.The offenses occurred on Oct. 21, 2024. Davie was arrested on June 3 and given an $8,000 secured bond.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Sandra Renee Singleton, 49, of 404 Benson St., Reidsville, was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Singleton of attempting to obtain a payment from Government Employees Insurance Co. by falsely claiming she received back and knee injuries when another vehicle struck her vehicle.The offenses occurred on Feb. 17.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Edgar Octavio Ambrocio Perez, 26, of 909 Grace Ave., Burlington. Perez was charged with insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense, both felonies.Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Perez of obtaining $8,736.56 from Specialty Insurance Co. by collecting temporary disability payments that he was not entitled to receive.

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Angela English Woody, 52, of 905 Harmony Grove Road, Nebo. Woody was charged with insurance fraud, a felony.Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Woody of taking out an automobile insurance policy in her mother’s name on May 26, 2024, after her mother had passed away on April 2, 2024.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey has announced the arrests of Alyssa Cheyenne Woolledge, 30, of 112 Hazel Lane, Troutman, and Michael Anthony Brown, 43, of 143 Perrin Dr., Mooresville. Woolledge is charged with one count of insurance fraud. Brown is charged with one count of insurance fraud and one count of obtaining property by false pretense.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey announced today that Damain Rayshawn Cummings, 30, of 1401 Chamblee Road, Zebulon, was charged with 21 insurance-related crimes. The charges included six counts of identity theft, six counts of insurance fraud, six counts of obtaining property by false pretense and three counts of attempting to obtain property by false pretense.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that Gregory Alan Williamson Jr., 38, of 3404 Cross Winds Road, Charlotte, has been charged with felony insurance fraud and misdemeanor common law uttering.
